Momento Mori Spike Urn Necklace

After my dog passed a couple years ago I was fueled with a desire to create pieces to revere and to cope with death. This is one of the later iterations of my process. This urn can be used to hold ashes, hair or another precious object to commemorate or to remember someone just like a religious reliquary would.

This piece is cast in sterling silver and set with green onyx cabochons. The bone chain measures 22” long and ends with a bone toggle clasp. The pendant itself measures 2.5” long and has a twist and lock top mechanism to stay closed together. The top is set with a quartz carbuncle that encloses a vampire skull carved from deer antler. The body of this piece is much wider and more like a barrel than the garnet spiked pen.

This is a one of a kind, but I can make these to order as well as make them custom with other variations.
